Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PrepVue collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit prepvue.ai, create an account, upload resumes, run mock interviews, contact us, or otherwise use our website and web application (together, the Service).

1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information received from third parties you choose to use.
- Account and profile information: email address, password credentials handled through our authentication flow, display name, and basic profile details associated with your account.
- Resume and job application content: PDF resumes you upload, extracted resume text, resume names and tags, job titles, company names, job descriptions you paste, tailored resume outputs, and resume scoring results.
- Interview and coding data: microphone audio used during live interview sessions, transcripts, answers, coding challenge submissions, test results, interview reports, scores, reviews, and related session data.
- Billing and subscription data: selected plan, billing cycle, subscription status, invoice information, payment status, and payment-related identifiers provided by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Communications: your name, email address, subject line, and message when you contact us through the website or by email.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device information, page views, referring pages, timestamps, and similar activity data used for analytics, security, reliability, and fraud prevention.
2. Google Sign-In Information
If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive basic Google account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier as made available by Google and our authentication provider.
We use Google account information only to authenticate you, create and maintain your PrepVue account, and display basic profile information inside the Service. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell Google user data.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service.
- Authenticate users and manage accounts and subscriptions.
- Process resume uploads, scoring, tailoring, interview setup, voice interview sessions, coding exercises, and AI-generated feedback.
- Perform company and role research when you request company-specific interview prep.
- Process payments, invoices, and subscription changes.
- Respond to support requests, questions, and feedback.
- Monitor usage, debug issues, improve product quality, and prevent abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers and partners that help us run PrepVue. These disclosures are limited to what is reasonably necessary for the Service to work.
- Supabase: authentication and session management.
- OpenAI: resume analysis, resume tailoring, interview orchestration, coding review, and AI-generated reports and feedback.
- Deepgram: speech-to-text and text-to-speech processing for live voice interviews.
- Tavily: company research and web search results when you request research-enhanced interview prep.
- Razorpay: subscription checkout, payment processing, and invoice handling.
- Google Analytics: website analytics and traffic measurement.
- Google: identity information when you choose Google Sign-In.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, in connection with a merger or asset sale, or with your direction.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your resumes, interview responses, transcripts, or coding submissions for third-party advertising.
5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, browser storage, scripts, and similar technologies to operate the Service, keep you signed in, remember preferences, process checkout, and understand usage.
- Authentication providers may use browser storage or similar mechanisms to maintain your session.
- PrepVue stores limited preference data, such as theme settings, in your browser.
- Google Analytics may collect usage information about how visitors interact with the website.
- Razorpay may load scripts or similar technology when you open a payment or subscription flow.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, support product functionality, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
- Account information is generally retained while your account remains active.
- Resume files and generated resume outputs are generally retained until you delete them or request deletion, subject to operational, legal, and security needs.
- Interview transcripts, coding submissions, reports, reviews, and related session data may be retained to provide history, scoring, and progress tracking.
- Billing and transaction records may be retained as needed for accounting, fraud prevention, tax, and compliance purposes.
- Contact messages may be retained as needed to respond to you and maintain support records.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable law, including rights to access, correct, delete, or request information about how your personal information is handled.
- You can update certain account information inside the Service, such as your display name and password.
- You can delete uploaded resumes within the product.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or additional privacy help.
- California residents may have additional rights, subject to verification and applicable exceptions.

9. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. PrepVue does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals in a way that changes data collection on the Service.
Third-party providers such as analytics, authentication, and payment providers may independently collect information about your activity over time and across different websites or services under their own privacy notices.
10. International Data Transfers
PrepVue and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at support@prepvue.ai.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update becomes effective means the updated policy will apply.
